Overland Park, KS: This month Ideal Producers Group announced the addition of DC Couch to the company. Couch fills the newly created position of Life Manager with the goal of bringing the level of service and experience in the Life Department to match that of the Annuity Department.

Couch began in the industry with Kansas Farm Bureau in 1979 as a career agent. He spent 25 years, producing, recruiting, training, and developing life agents. For several years he managed what was recognized as the most valuable life agency for Farm Bureau Financial; and in multiple years he also held the Agency record for the highest life insurance productivity per agent. In addition, he has completed extensive training courses within the industry and has served as an instructor for others.

The move by Ideal Producers Group to add this position is in response to internal growth as well as how the company perceives industry trending. Couch explains, "Life insurance has lagged a bit in 2009, but most companies are finding increased production this year. I've been in contact with one company where production is up over 50%."

Additionally, Couch has the directive of keeping up with other industry trends as far as sales strategies. Couch says, "As an advisor, the most important issue you address is making sure the family is taken care of in case of death. Bottom line, whatever contract it takes, this is our fundamental goal. From there we move to planning strategies which meet the specific needs. Many agents throughout the country are using IUL for income planning. It's one of the last tax free horizons left in our arsenal."
