In your business it is imperative that you cross over to the social media world and make it part of your daily routine. You should be contributing to it every single day. Think of it like brushing your teeth.
In order to become social, you need to understand that these forms of communication are participatory. Social media is not like a website — it cannot stand alone, unchanged and expect to attract any attention. People are fickle — if they’ve already seen it they will move on to the next thing.
The best way become social is to set goals and meet them. Put aside time everyday, not to just post on your wall, but to listen, learn and comment on other people’s posts. Use your knowledge of business, current events and product changes as food for content.
What is content? Testimonials, videos, ebooks, blogs, infographics, slide share presentations, guides and more are all content. Content is the reason people want to visit your sites in the first place, and to keep them there you have to interact with them. To gather information from them you must get them to interact with each other.
