The party of no?
You've heard the charges. According to many, President Obama could find a way to provide free health care to all and throw a cherry on top and the GOP would shoot it down in flames.
Recently, House Minority Eric Cantor weighed in on the topic in an editorial piece titled "The GOP's path back," saying "At a moment when the country needs our help, it would be a great mistake for the House GOP to turn inward and simply become the party of "no."'
Well, according to this recent piece in the Washington Post by columnist Steven Pearlstein, the events of the recent Blair House summit did little to change this reputation.
Like everything else of late, the topic of health care has become bogged down in partisan name-calling, but are these charges fair? Has our country become so deadlocked by opposing viewpoints that nothing constructive can get done?

Hartford surveys finds that few understand retirement benefits
The Hartford’s Benefit Landscape Study indicates that few Americans actually understand their retirement benefits.
In fact, 65 percent of adults surveyed say they completely or mostly understand their retirement plan, compared to 82 percent who completely or mostly understand their health and car insurance policies.
Meanwhile those respondents between the ages of 30 and 44 represented the greatest number of people with a retirement plan,as 67 percent of those surveyed in that age group have one.
This is compared to 66 percent of those between the ages of 55 and 65 who currently have a retirement plan.
Why do you think Americans find the benefits of a retirement plan more confusing than insurance policies? Please leave your thoughts below.
