AlwaysCare Benefits Inc. is trying to get eye care
professionals to look at it in a new light.
AlwaysCare, a company that sells vision benefits, dental insurance, critical illness insurance and other non-major medical benefits, said it has set up a new vision care provider portal, to make it easier for the providers to access and manage the patients' benefits.
Providers should now find it easier to complete tasks such as checking whether patients are eligible for benefits and calculating the amount a patient will owe, AlwaysCare said.
Improving eye care professionals' experience should help improve the enrollees' experience, the company said.
AlwaysCare sells vision benefits on both a traditional, group, employer-paid basis and through sales of individual products at the worksite.

(NYSE:MET) found recently when it surveyed 523 U.S. workers ages 18 and older that they were more likely to list vision benefits and dental benefits as "dream benefits" than they were to list more vacation time or gym memberships.

Employers that want low-cost, no-frills plans should have an easier time getting those, and employers that want to offer the most comprehensive benefits should have an easier time doing that, the company said.
- The Internet Dental Alliance is offering customizable dental
marketing websites aimed at patients who are looking for root canal therapy. A dentist can choose from a list of geographic markets and a list of common root canal-related search terms, such as dental implants. The company then will generate a website that matches with the market and keywords selected.
