WINDSOR, Conn., May 13, 2014 —
Curacao Prime Minister Ivar Asjes will provide opening remarks at the 34th annual Caribbean Insurance Conference, which will be held on June 1-3, 2014 in Curacao, the main island of the Netherlands Antilles.
Asjes became the fourth prime minister of Curacao in June of 2013. From 2010 to 2013, Asjes was a member of the Curacao Parliament serving as its president from 2010-2012. Prior to his time in Parliament, Asjes was commissioner of finance.
With a theme of "Today's Challenges, Tomorrow's Opportunities," the two-day event will provide attendees with the latest information about market trends, product development, distribution and regulatory issues. Of particular interest will be the local perspectives dedicated to insurance, banking and the overall financial industry in the Caribbean region.
Robert A. Kerzner, president and CEO, LIMRA, LOMA and LL Global, Inc., will speak to conference attendees about emerging trends in life insurance and retirement markets. He will focus on companies' use of big data, predictive analytics and social media both within and outside the industry.
Other featured speakers include: Dr. Steven Martina, president and CEO of Guardian Group Fatum; Craig Weber, CEO, Celent; Jose Suquet, chairman of the board, president and CEO, Pan-American Life Insurance Group; and Craig Thorburn, lead insurance specialist from the World Bank.
