Remember the old adage, “practice what you preach?” It’s unbelievable, even inconceivable, that advisors don’t take the same medicine that they spoon-feed their customers. Having a working knowledge of AGI and MAGI can not only mitigate the tax bill for clients, but it can
reduce an advisor’s tax liability as well. And having a knowledge base on the 1040 can create a gateway into the CPA community, who are conditioned to retro practice in contrast to advisors, who are proactive. Steve and Ken exhort their fellow colleagues to practice what they preach, learn so they can teach and market their outreach to prospects.
