A gauge of the U.S. job market climbed for the 14th consecutive month in July.

The Conference Board's Employment Trends Index rose to 97 in July -- a slight increase from a rate of 96.7 in June.

This means that, in the year-over-year period examined, the index rose 9.8 percent, the Conference Board reports.
