Consumer spending and incomes remained flat in June, further evidence of a slow economic recovery, according to the Commerce Department.

Spending increased just 0.1 percent in May, and June figures are expected to be comparable.

Meanwhile, weak consumer spending contributed to an economic growth pace of just 2.4 percent during the second quarter, after a increase rate of 3.7 percent during the first quarter.
