Finra warns of potential social media dangers
Registered reps who mix personal use of social networking sites with business use should take heed, according to Finra.

"It's the same issues as with e-mails -- if you're going to conduct business through e-mail, you can't go home and do it there," said Joseph Price, a Finra senior vice president of advertising regulation/corporate financing.

Speaking at an Insurance Marketing Standards Association event, he noted that a growing number of broker/dealers have asked Finra for strategies to use social networks while conducting business.

Price also noted that technology vendors could soon provide solutions that will make it easier to captures business-related posts.
