Gas prices nearly $.90 lower than Jan. `09
The price per gallon for gas dipped an average of 1.42 cents throughout the past two weeks, according to the latest Lundberg Survey.
Findings indicate that the average price for self-serve regular gasoline in the U.S. is slightly more than $2.72 per gallon --nearly 87 cents a gallon more than drivers were paying in January of 2009.
And, while the cost of crude has recently declined, the average still remains above $70 a barrel, a figure that is about $30 higher than last year.
