The number of Americans who think college is a good financial investment dropped to 64 percent -- a decline of 16 points from 2009 and 17 points from 2008, Country Financial reports.

Findings indicate that more and more Americans are prioritizing retirement savings over college savings. In fact, 43 percent of Americans say saving for their own retirement is their top priority, while 41 percent cited saving for their child's college education.

And finally, those who chose retirement as their main concern increased two points since 2009, while those concerned with education dropped 6 points.
