Financial planning groups introduce online search tools
Two financial planning organizations recently announced that they've introduced online tools that will enable consumers, regulators and other uses to search for advisors with their professional designations.
The College for Financial Planning announced its new Web site, CFP's Professional Designation Information Portal, which is intended to provide education about the college's designations by providing information about the necessary requirements to obtain and hold such titles.
In addition, the CFP Board announced that The Nasdaq Stock Market Inc. is offering the board's list of its certified financial planners on its site.
Users can use the site to search a database of more than 60,000 CFP professionals by geographic location or name.
