Unemployment rates in 363 U.S. metropolitan areas climbed in January, while nearly 350 areas reported year-on-year declines in their number of jobs, according to the Labor Department.

Almost 200 metro areas reported unemployment rates of at least 10 percent in January, as unemployment concerns continue to affect certain areas.

California continues to suffer from unemployment problems, with an overall jobless rate of 12.5 percent in January. In fact, the state holds the three areas with the highest jobless rates in the country, all above 20 percent.
