Advisors are looking forward to a good year and feeling optimistic about their business prospects, according to a recent survey conducted by Rydex SGI AdvisorBenchmarking, an affiliate of Rydex SGI.

Nearly three-quarters of advisors surveyed said their business was currently in a growth phase, while 91 percent expect profits to rise. Meanwhile, around 80 percent expect to see more clients sign up this year.

In addition, 72 percent of respondents said that assets increase last year, compared to just 8 percent who said their assets remained flat.

More advisors said they were using social media to communicate with existing clients, attract new ones, and advertise their company. Forty-six percent of advisors said they use social media, while 42 percent said they used LinkedIn, 27 percent Facebook, 15 percent YouTube and 13 percent Twitter.

Finally, the majority of advisors who were surveyed said they liked their job, while 84 percent rater their job satisfaction a 4 or 5, on a scale of 1 to 5.
