Fewer Americans concerned with savings

While 63 percent of Americans were concerned about the state of financial markets in 2009, that figure is now at just 45 percent.

And, although 55 percent of Americans last year reported concerns related to retirement, only about 40 percent of those surveyed have the same fears this year, indicates a new study commissioned by Scottrade.

In fact, the number of Americans who were worried they wouldn't be able to afford a comfortable retirement dipped from 56 in 2009, to 51 percent this year -- the same as in early 2008.
