Retirees in New England got bad news this month, when five New England states made it into the top 10 worst states to retire, according to TopRetirements.com.
TopRetirements.com used five factors to determine the worst states for retirees: fiscal health, property taxes, income taxes, cost of living and climate. TopRetirements named Connecticut the worst state to retire, followed by Illinois, Rhode Island, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Minnesota, New York, Maine and Wisconsin.
Vermont, Minnesota and Maine were new arrivals to the list this year, pushing Ohio, Nevada and California off the list.
