Nursing again topped the list of the most trustworthy professions, according to a new Gallup poll.
Nursing was voted the most trusted profession for the 12th time in 13 years, meeting respondents’ expectations of honesty and ethics, the study said.
Other top-ranked professions were physicians and pharmacists, while members of Congress, lobbyists, telemarketers and car salespeople ranked lowest.
"The public's continued trust in nurses is well-placed, and reflects an appreciation for the many ways nurses provide expert care and advocacy," said Karen A. Daley, RN, Ph.D., president of the American Nurses Association.
